Frequently Asked Questions
How much does it cost to upgrade?
Several factors go into the price, like age and antler characteristics but the normal charge is $125 per inch up to 150" B&C gross. If the deer you harvest is large enough to go into the next size category of hunt, that is the price you pay
What is the percent of success?
It varies slightly from year to year, but for the last 6 years 100% of our hunters have harvested a buck or had a shot opportunity. We can't guarantee you a harvest because it is truly a hunt. However, we do guarantee you a quality hunting experience. If you fail to harvest an animal because you don't get the opportunity, we will extend the length of your hunt until you get a shot opportunity, or you can come back to hunt for no charge until you get the opportunity, or we can refund 50% of the hunt price.
Is this a high fence hunt?
We utilize a whitetail management fence for almost 7 miles in one of our trophy areas. We also have 8 miles of 5 strand barbed-wire that is in another area where we do not have a whitetail management fence. We believe the whitetail management fence gives us the ultimate tool in managing our whitetail herd. We do not operate a deer farm, and you won't see deer in smaller pens that are turned into a larger area for you to hunt. This is truly a hunt where the fence is used strictly as a management tool. If you want to custom order the size of buck and have an easy hunt, this hunt is not for you.
How will we be hunting?
We hunt from elevated blinds in most cases. However, we use several different techniques in order to get our clients on trophy bucks. We occasionally rattle, still hunt, spot and stalk, hunt from ground blinds, and ladder stands. Our techniques depend on the type of animal we are hunting, and the individual physical abilities of our clients.
What does fully guided mean?
Our fully guided hunts mean you have a personal guide with you at all times in the field. He is there to pick the right hunting area based on wind direction, bedding and feeding habits, and observed deer movement. He escorts you the entire time you are hunting with us, and assist you in making good field decisions on trophies spotted. In addition, he will transport your trophy for you, field dress it and assist you with various other needs you may have.
What does semi-guided mean?
On our semi-guided hunts, a guide will assist you in choosing a place to hunt based on wind direction, rut, feeding, bedding activities and weather. They will not be in the blind or stand with you but they will be available by radio. Our guides will assist in tracking, transporting, and field dressing your trophy.
Is this a game farm and can I shoot other animals while on the hunt?
We are not a game farm. We specialize strictly in whitetail deer, and Eastern wild turkey hunts! We do not offer red stags, elk or other exotics. We only hunt species that are currently native to the state of Missouri. We do sometimes combine the hunts for turkey and deer depending on the season and the clients wishes. We can recommend a few reputable outfitters in Colorado, Montana and Wyoming for elk, mule deer and antelope.
