This is our final News Letter for 2006. We have some
exciting information in this issue.
Halls Creek Outfitters was developed by hunters for
hunters. We offer a unique and unforgettable
hunting experience for trophy whitetails and
turkeys. We have hunting packages to suite any
taste and budget. Experience for yourself why
discerning hunters everywhere rate Halls Creek as
one of the top outfitters in North America.
In 2006 we had the best season ever. With its'
highs and lows 2006 will be a season none of us at
Halls Creek will ever forget! It was far and away
the most memorable season we have ever had. Almost
40 hunters from across North American traveled to
Central Missouri to take part in the Halls Creek
Hunting experience!
A Season to Remember!
100% Harvest 3 Years in a Row!
2006 will forever be remembered as the year of
extreme success at Halls Creek. 39 hunters harvested
43 bucks and 19 does! Every hunter harvested at
least one buck and two lucky hunters harvested two
bucks each! That makes over 100% success rate for
the last 3 years in a row. In 2006 we harvested 38%
more deer than in 2005 and 63% more deer than in
2004.... WOW! Our intensive management programs are
really paying off... in big ways! We never dreamed
that Halls Creek would be producing the numbers of
trophies we saw in 2006. In fact, based on the deer
we are currently seeing on trail cameras and on
scouting trips we believe 2007 will even be better!
Each year that we have been commercially hunting we
have seen at least a 25% increase in antler size
averages and body weights as well as shear numbers
of deer harvested! We are confident that 2007 will be a
record year also.

Big Bucks for Big Buck Antlers!
What is your trophy worth????
You just completed the hunt of your life and
harvested the largest whitetail you have ever
taken.... What is the rack worth?? We have all heard
rumors about racks being worth thousands and even
hundreds of thousands of dollars.... Larry Huffman
is a very recognized whitetail appraiser. Larry, is
the former owner of the Legendary Whitetails
Collection. That collection boasts 85 of the largest
whitetails ever harvested.
Larry sold the entire collection to Bass
Pro Shops a few years ago. Larry has developed a
point system to evaluate the value of whitetail
trophies. You can see the estimated values Larry
Huffman
puts on antlers by clicking on the link at the end
of this article. Larry does commercial appraisals
for individuals that want to get a professional
value put on a trophy. Those interested can
also get their mounts appraised by the Chicago
Appraisal Association. Bruce Duncan, of the Chicago
Appraisal Association, uses a 20 point
evaluation system to come up with an estimated
value of trophies.
One of the criteria he uses to establish a value is
the COST OF THE HUNT. This adds value for things
like travel, guide service, and trophy fees. For
all of you Halls Creek hunters this means that
trophy you took with you after your hunt, has a real
dollar value and should be insured accordingly!
These racks do have value, but remember the odds of
a hunter harvesting an animal scoring above 200
inches is still 10,000,000-to-1 (you still have a
better chance of being struck by lightning, or being
attacked by a shark, or winning the powerball)...
Unless you hunt at Halls Creek.... our management
techniques have proven to increase your odds
dramatically! Finally, in a recent survey it was
discovered that more than half of the hunters that
sold their giant whitetails, wish they had them
back....Keep that in mind if you are ever one of the
lucky few that get to hang a world-class whitetail
on your wall....
