Hunter: John Hoops

John and his friends had a great weekend at Halls Creek in late September. John, hunted hard his first 4 hunts but did not see any bucks that he thought met his standards as a trophy. Then on the third afternoon around 1:30pm, Johns guide spotted this buck bedded close to a watering hole. John made and excellent stalk and harvested this buck right out of his bed.

The buck was spotted entering a biologic food plot around 6pm. We had a trail camera picture of Kevins buck from August of this year. We new where to find him and it's great when a plan comes together!

Derrick went on his first ever rifle hunt in Missouri. Derrick has always had a keen interest in hunting but never really had the opportunity to hunt. He chose Halls Creek for his first ever hunting experience. The guide had trail camera pictures of a great buck in the area. Derrick's guide put him on this beautiful 130 inch buck on the first night of his hunt. Derrick made a perfect shot and harvested his first buck ever! James Parsons hunted with us the first weekend of the Missouri Archery season. James harvested this great buck from a climbing stand on the edge of a standing corn field with a biologic green patch plus edge. The buck fed at the edge of the field on acorns. Once the buck entered the field, James had him in his sites and "dropped-the-string" on a great early season Missouri buck. Great Job James! We had trail camera pictures of this buck and new he was in the area.

Charles Corely, along with some friends and family hunted the early season at Halls Creek. Charles made a great shot on this buck the second night of his hunt. Charles and his personal guide saw this buck the night before at about 300 yards. With the sunlight fading, Charles elected not to harvest the buck on his first night. However, Charles and his guide were waiting in a new spot on the second night, and Charles was able to harvest this buck at about 75 yards. Great Shot!

Brent Corely visited Halls Creek for his first ever paid hunt. And was he ever suprised! Brent harvest this GIANT buck on the second night of his hunt. When we say GIANT we mean 285 pounds! This buck not only scored well, he ate well too! The food plots and supplemental feeding program has really improved our overall herd health. Brent congratulations on a great buck we nicknamed the "pig".

Brian Toll along with his father Dennis Toll traveled to Halls Creek to hunt the BOW ONLY AREA. On the second night of his hunt he grunted in this fantastic mature 11 point buck. Brian made a tremendous shot on this Missouri bruiser. Brian was hunting with a Mathews bow and "double-lunged" this 235lb beauty at 28 yards. Great hunt and great shot!

He told Duane about it, and that's all it took... Duane hunted this buck hard the next night. And as usual right before dark, this GIANT buck entered a biologic clover plus field following a hungry doe. Duane made perfect shot and harvested this 255lb "Hog"

He chose to harvest this "high-brow" buck on the second evening of his hunt. This buck was nosing does at the edge of a standing corn field when Jack pulled the trigger. We had a trail camera picture of this deer in early August. He had not been spotted or found on a trail camera since then. Great Job Jack!

David Michael brought his wife Christina to hunt at Halls Creek. David harvested one of the largest 8 pointers we had ever seen. The mass was simply unbelievable! But Christina did a little better than her husband. We had trail camera pictures of the big 8 from 3 nights before.
